"Whatever you are, be a good one"?

"Whatever you are, be a good one" is a quote from the United States' 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. I chose to use this quote as my title because I find that living with this mindset is very helpful and motivational to my daily activities or to life in general.

To further explain this, when the quote is saying, "whatever you are", it is referring to what a person's responsibility or occupation might be. In example, the person could be a friend, a student, a daughter or a son, a girlfriend or a boyfriend, a teacher, or whichever occupation he or she may have. By being in that position, the person should "be a good one", which means that one must put his or her full effort and take responsibility. For instance, if you're a student, then you should be a good student by working hard to earn good grades.

I regret wasting my time on boy drama and parties when I was a freshmen in college. Once I entered college, I got sidetracked with things that consumed a lot of my valuable time that I could have used to study. The results were poor grades and disappointment from my parents. During my second year, I told myself that I have to be more mature and take care of my duties. I became a better student, and I became a better daughter. That was when I stumbled upon this quote that I am using as my title now. This quote is meaningful to me because it explains my life.
